There are a few simple steps that you need to complete your test. Please follow the instructions below:

Login to your MyHealthChecked account (either using a desktop browser or a mobile) or click here.

Select "Activate Test" on the sidebar menu.

Click the "Activate test" button that describes your blood or DNA test.

Enter the Barcode number enclosed in the package. Please note that blood barcode starts with the letters ‘MG’ and DNA barcode starts with the letters "CONC."

Enter your Royal Mail tracking number.

You will need to enter your personal details.

Enter the date and time you collect your sample. Your sample is now activated.
You will receive an email notification once you have successfully activated your test as confirmation, and we will take care of the rest for you.

Please note that your sample will not be processed if it has not been activated. The activation guarantees that your information is properly registered for your test. If you've received an activation email reminder, it signifies that our system has detected incomplete registration of your details. Consequently, our lab cannot proceed with the analysis of your sample.

1. Login to your MyHealthChecked account (using a desktop browser rather than a mobile).

2. Select "My Results" on the sidebar menu.

3. Click the "Return to My Activation" button for the appropriate test.

4. Finally, fill out any areas that you might have missed. The most important piece of information to submit is the collection date and time.

Please note that if you are taking a Menopause or PCOS blood test, filling out the Health Assessment is mandatory; otherwise, we won't be able to provide your test results.

You will receive an email notification once you have successfully activated your test as confirmation, and we will take care of the rest for you.

DNA

You can collect your DNA sample at any time of the day. However, to ensure a pure sample, it is recommended to avoid eating or drinking any food or beverages, including tea and coffee, for at least one hour before collecting the sample. Similarly, you should avoid brushing your teeth or using mouthwash during this hour. These activities can reduce the quantity of buccal DNA in your sample, as they tend to remove cells from the inside of your mouth that are crucial for DNA analysis.

Blood

Recent studies suggest that only certain biomarkers require testing in a fasting state or at specific times. For tests involving a lipid profile, such as triglycerides, it is recommended to fast beforehand, adhering to NHS guidelines which recommend fasting for up to 12 hours. Tests measuring testosterone levels are best conducted in the morning. For Menopause or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) tests, it's optimal to perform the test on the third day of your menstrual cycle. Keep in mind that performing a capillary blood test by yourself usually takes between 30-45 minutes, so plan your sample collection accordingly.

If you cannot collect the minimum required amount of blood in the tube, we recommend repeating some light exercises and warming your hands under hot water before gently massaging your palm towards your finger. Then, use one of the additional lancets provided to prick a different finger. We recommend using your middle or ring finger for sample collection as these fingers typically experience less sensitivity and have a better blood flow, making the process more comfortable and efficient. After use, it is advised to place the used lancets into the plastic bag provided alongside plasters and wipes. Lancets are designed to be used once and then disposed of in a safe way in accordance with local regulations. No, lancets are designed for single-use only. Reusing lancets poses health risks, including the potential for infection and compromised accuracy in blood testing. It is crucial to use a new, sterile lancet for each blood testing session.
