Meet our team
Penny McCormick
CEO
My journey into consumer healthcare began in 2005 after I’d spent a few years in the commercial world, focused on the somewhat unhealthier category of confectionery and biscuits. Getting an opportunity to focus on education and support for people with diabetes initially really opened my eyes to some of the health issues where people, and healthcare professionals, really needed better support – and I loved making a difference! A new career passion was born.
Building a successful business that supports people’s wellness journeys has been incredibly rewarding, and over the years I have become increasingly interested and passionate about nutritional wellness and proactive healthcare, and I love to hear from customers about how our tests and services have really helped them. I hope that we can help people to stay well and stay out of hospital as much as possible by giving themselves the best chance now. I also love hearing our excellent MHC team speak with such passion about what we do, and why it matters – I love that we all love what we do so much, and everyone is so proud of it.
When I’m not working I am normally prioritising being outdoors with my dogs, running or fitness training, trying out new recipes, or planning home renovations – all great passions of mine!
Martin Hedley
Chief Operating Officer
After transitioning from a military career to healthcare four years ago during the pandemic, I have found immense purpose in my role as COO at MyHealthChecked. I thrive on the variety that comes with overseeing the delivery of our exceptional products and services, whilst witnessing the positive impact they have on the lives of our customers.
My focus remains on continuously enhancing our offerings to ensure we meet and exceed expectations. Working alongside a dedicated team that shares the same passion for excellence keeps me motivated every day.
Beyond work, I enjoy spending time with my young family, keeping up with our energetic dog, and embracing the outdoors whenever possible.
Bhavika Patel
Technical Product Specialist
After over 15 years working as a scientist in healthcare, I recognised I wanted to do more than contribute from behind the scenes. My ambition was to make healthcare simple, accessible, and truly useful for everyone. This drive led me to co-found a business that eventually became the DNA division at MyHealthChecked. I’m especially focused on bringing meaningful science into people’s hands through our own platforms and digital health innovations.
Working at MyHealthChecked is really rewarding because our team might be small, but we’ve got huge ambitions, and everyone genuinely cares about making a difference.
Outside of work, you’ll find me experimenting in the kitchen, out for a walk, or hanging out with family and friends.
Isabela Ramos
Product Manager
After completing my dietetics degree in Brazil, I moved to the UK to advance my expertise, earning a master’s in nutrition and genetics. My passion lies in exploring how nutrition enables us to take control of our health through informed choices.
At MyHealthChecked, I channel this passion into developing scientifically robust products that make a real difference in people’s lives. I take pride in being part of a dedicated and ambitious team, united by a mission to support healthier living for all.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, taking walks with my dog through the countryside and appreciating the calm it brings.
Tom Mosley
Operations & Supply Chain Manager
With a background in supply chain optimisation and operations management, I was drawn to MyHealthChecked by the opportunity to make a real difference in accessible health. Here, I’m motivated daily by our mission to empower everyone to take control of their health with easy, at-home testing solutions.
Working with a close-knit team of passionate individuals, I’m proud to contribute to a company that’s dedicated to innovation and growth. My role allows me to focus on streamlining processes to ensure our products reach customers reliably and efficiently.
Outside of MyHealthChecked, I enjoy Rugby, walking my dogs, and catching up with friends and family.
Nagela Ford
Quality Assurance Manager
I began my career in quality management over a decade ago at a private molecular testing laboratory, which equipped me with great foundational experience in quality systems and regulatory compliance. However, I often felt disconnected from the patient and wanted a role where I could see the direct impact of my work on people’s health and wellbeing.
I joined MyHealthChecked as Quality Assurance Manager in May 2023. The role has been particularly rewarding as it has allowed me to feel more connected to the patient journey. Working alongside a small but talented and committed team, I’ve played a pivotal role in achieving ISO13485 and ISO27001 certifications, ensuring the highest standards of quality and security for our customers.
In my spare time, I enjoy going on long walks in the countryside, baking (and eating!) cakes, as well as travelling to new places.
Emma Williams
Financial Accountant
With 11 years’ experience in accountancy, I joined MyHealthChecked in February 2023. I was excited to be part of an organisation that helped people better understand their health through accessible home testing. I have the pleasure of being part of a small, ambitious team focused on helping people to strive for a healthier future.
Through my role, I learn something new every day, and I have been fortunate enough to trial our tests which has given me a better understanding of my own health.
Outside of work I enjoy weight training, walking my dog and spending quality time with friends and family.
Aaron Dodd
Frontend Developer
As a former teacher, I spent years nurturing young minds in the classroom, but my passion for technology and creativity led me to explore game development and other projects on the side. This journey sparked my transition to a Frontend Developer role, where I can reach a broader audience and make a more significant impact. I thrive in the tech space at MyHealthChecked, contributing to projects that empower people to lead healthier lives.
Outside of work, I’m deeply immersed in nerd culture, particularly Warhammer and gaming. I also volunteer at a hospice, helping those in need, and engage in fundraising efforts for civilians affected by war in various regions. Recently retiring from rugby, I continue to prioritise fitness and well-being, embracing an active lifestyle that keeps me grounded and focused.
