Why test
Knowing how your body manages glucose is crucial for maintaining overall health. It helps you understand your risk of conditions like diabetes and metabolic syndrome. By managing glucose effectively through diet and lifestyle, you can prevent complications and maintain energy levels for optimal daily function.
Our DNA glucose test focuses on how your response to blood sugar is influenced by your genes, and provides recommendations from healthcare professionals on how you can optimise your diet to manage this response.
What's analysed in our glucose DNA test
Glucose management
Find out if your genetic makeup is linked to problems with how your body releases insulin and functions of β-cell, which might lead to unstable blood sugar levels.
Insulin resistance
Learn if your carry the genetic risk of low IRS1 protein production which raises your chance of developing insulin resistance.
PGC-1α levels and glucose metabolism
Find out if your genetic profile shows that a key controller called PGC-1α might not work as well as it should, potentially causing problems with how your body processes glucose.
Plasma BCAAs and glucose levels
Discover if your genetic profile suggests that your blood sugar levels might be out of balance, possibly due to having high levels of certain amino acids called BCAAs circulating in your body.
Glucose levels and zinc intake
Explore whether you carry the gene associated with a difficulty to metabolise zinc. This could suggest your body might have trouble producing enough insulin due to low zinc levels.
β-3 adrenergic receptors and insulin response
Find out if your genetic profile suggests that a specific gene called ADRB3 might not work properly, which could lead to higher levels of glucose and insulin in your body.
Glycemic response
Uncover if your genetic makeup suggests you might have a higher chance of having unstable blood sugar levels when you eat certain types of carbohydrates that quickly raise your blood sugar.
What our customers say
This was a swab test, that was easy to complete following the instructions provided and had to be posted away to get the results. I received my results about a week later. My results were provided in an email report that detailed 7 health areas. I showed a lack of zinc and in several other areas an average reading. The report was detailed and provided information about how best to improve in areas that had shown issues. I found this easy from start to finish and have used the report to make changes.
This test was really easy to use and the instructions are clear and user friendly. The instructional video is also very helpful. The results were interesting to see and clear to understand prompting me to do some more research on zinc levels.
