Who is this test for?

This is suited to male adults (aged 18 and over only) who would like to know if they have been exposed to chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV, and syphilis.

What you will discover

Our male sexual health test checks whether you have an infection of chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV, and syphilis. Your results are not recorded on your medical record or shared with your doctor. The test will arrive in discreet packaging, allowing you to take it in the privacy of your own home without visiting or waiting at a sexual health clinic.

Getting tested regularly can help detect STIs early, and early treatment can prevent complications and the spread of the infection to others. Taking this test is a responsible way to manage your sexual health and seek the appropriate treatment if it is needed.

Your results

It is important to note, that our sexual health test can provide you with different results depending on the type of infection antibodies detected.

When screening for syphilis and HIV, BHIVA guidelines state that the detection of a reaction with antibodies will be classified as an "unconfirmed reactive" result. If you receive this type of result, one of our doctors will try to call you to discuss your results before these are published on your confidential health dashboard, located on your MyHealthChecked account

For chlamydia and gonorrhoea, you may receive a confirmed "detected" result from your sample. Additionally, in the case of gonorrhoea, it is possible to receive an "unconfirmed reactive" result instead.

Where an unconfirmed reactive result is received, we will recommend what action you should take. If necessary, it is your responsibility to seek further confirmatory testing.

Intended use

This self-test kit is designed for male adults aged 18 and over for the collection of a capillary blood sample and a urine sample to be performed at home using lancets and sample collection tubes. The samples are then returned to our UK-based laboratory and analysed against a variety of biomarkers. This kit alone is not suitable for diagnosis and is not a substitute for consultation with a healthcare professional. You should always seek advice from your doctor before starting any treatment. If necessary, it is your responsibility to seek further confirmatory testing with a sexual healthcare professional. This test is not suitable for children.
